PATRICK MIKHAIL GALLERY is pleased to announce representation of Montréal photographer and multidisciplinary artist EVE K. TREMBLAY. Often photographic, Eve K. Tremblay's multidisciplinary works give way to contemplation and astonishment as well as to the fragmented forms of narration, memory, and consciousness. Greenhouses, gardens, laboratories, real or imaginary landscapes, allow encounters between often feminine figures and elements. Of late, pyrometric cones and small ceramic sculptures come together at the crossroads of personal narratives, fictions, and reinvented landscapes on the outskirts of towns, villages, and water bodies where she has lived. Installations in gallery spaces cultivate temporary symbiotic relationships and then disperse over time. The works bear witness to rituals and meditative spaces envisioned to decant the world. After studying literature at the Université de Montréal (1991-1992) and theater at Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York (1994-1995), Ms. Tremblay obtained a BFA with a major in photography from Montreal’s Concordia University. In her work, she proposes a poetic and narrative approach on the border of the real and the imaginary mixing autobiographical, literary, and scientific references and metaphors. Since 2000, she has shared her time between Montreal, Berlin, New York, New Jersey, Val-David, and recently Plattsburgh, NY. Her works have been widely published and reviewed, notably in the New York Times, Artforum magazine, Border Crossings, and Le Devoir. She has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally, including: MNBAQ (PQ), Bergen Kunsthall (NO), Kunstraum Kreuzberg (DE), Kunstverein Wolfsburg, MACM, LAU MAC, MACVAL, the Prague Biennial, The Momentum Nordic Biennial 7 (NO), Petach Tikva Museum of Art, UWAG, SAAG, Owens Art Gallery, Leonard Bina Ellen Art Gallery. Her works can be found in numerous collections including: Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal; Musée national des beaux-arts de Québec; TD Bank; Bank of Montreal; Cirque du Soleil; Iaab Christoph Merian Stiftung, Basel; Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, Toronto; Ville de Montréal; Richard J. Massey Foundation for Arts & Sciences, New York; and Eileen S. Kaminski Family Foundation, New Jersey. Ms. Tremblay recently appeared in the exhibition FINEM AESTATIS at Patrick Mikhail Gallery. She launches a new body of work at PMG in the exhibition POINTE AUX ROCHES from January 11 to February 22, 2020.
